Welcome to the Yucatan Photographs Upload Instruction Page

Go to web site:

http://www.dotphoto.com/

Enter username and password and click ‘Sign-in’.

Click ‘Create a New Album’.

Fill in the following form (It would be nice if we all named photo albums by last name) and click “Create” (you do not have to password protect but please note that if you choose a “Category” your photos will be publicly accessible):

Click on “Click here to upload images”:

Now you should see the following screen:

Here you have to select the photo(s) you want to upload. Please note that there are ten open slots for image files (photos) on the left and ten open slots for sound files on the right. The system will only let you upload ten photographs at a time. The process for uploading photographs is a bit tedious, but simple once you’ve done it a couple of times.

Click on “Browse”.

The choose file dialog box should appear. Now you have to select the image file you want to upload. If your photos are on a disk, you may upload them directly from the CD-ROM drive. Or you can and upload them from your hard-drive. Once you have selected the photograph you want to download, click “Open”.

Notice that the space next to the “Browse” button now contains the path to the photo you selected to upload. The photo will not be uploaded until you click on the “Start upload” button. But first you have to finish selecting up to ten photos. Repeat the previous step until all ten slots are full or until you are out of photos to download.

Once your photographs are uploaded, you’ll see the following dialog box. Click ‘here’ to close the window.

The dialog box disappears, leaving you with only the original upload window you were originally working in. If you want to check to see if your photos uploaded correctly, click on “View All Albums”.

You should see the new album you created along with all the other previously created albums. If you want to view an album, hover over the picture and you should see a menu pop up, see following picture:

This menu allows you to view the album, or to upload more photographs.

The site is pretty easy to use; it’s mostly point and click. But if you run into problems, please feel free to e-mail me @ jh28189@txstate.edu or call me @ 512-392-2917. --- John Harkabus
